Is a doctor referral necessary?
No - a doctor's referral is not required to see any of our therapists for a private treatment. Some extended health benefit programs will require a doctor's referral before providing coverage. You can refer to your extended health benefit plan for clarification.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
• Doctor referral if necessary
• Shorts - if you are being treated for foot, ankle, knee, hip or back
• Tank top - if you are being treated for upper back, shoulder or neck
• WSIB Clients - claim #, employers' contact information
• Diagnostic tests such as CT scan, x-ray or MRI related to injury
Does insurance cover physiotherapy services?
Motor Vehicle Accidents
If you have been injured in an automobile accident, we will assist in communication with your insurance company. We submit invoices for pre-approved treatment to your insurance company and they pay us directly on your behalf.
Extended Health Benefits/Plans
There are some providers that we will bill directly on your behalf. All other providers we require that treatments are paid for immediately after treatment. We provide you with a receipt and your extended health provider will reimburse you for your treatments. Please check with your provider for more information.
How long is a treatment?
The initial assessment will last approximately 1 hour. Further treatments will range from 30 minutes up to 1 hour. Length will depend on the injury and treatment involved.
Are the therapists at Back In Motion registered in Ontario?
Yes - we only employ registered Physiotherapists and Massage Therapists.
